THE NOOK
Project Type:
New Build
Date:
2025
Location:
Wilpshire
A contemporary five-bedroom detached home on Ribblesdale Avenue designed and built using Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs), delivering a high-performance, energy-efficient building with a significantly reduced construction timeline. The project was completed from start to finish in just 9 months, including all groundworks, SIP erection, internal fit-out, and final finishes.
At the heart of the build is a three-storey SIP structure, which was delivered to site and fully erected in just 2.5 weeks. This rapid installation not only reduced the overall construction length but also ensured a weathertight envelope early in the process, allowing internal works to proceed without weather-related delays. The SIP system provided exceptional thermal performance, airtightness, and structural integrity which were all essential for meeting the project’s sustainability and energy efficiency goals.
The house incorporates a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system, enabling the generation of renewable electricity onsite. This is complemented by a low-carbon Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) system, which provides efficient space heating and domestic hot water throughout the year. Together, these systems significantly reduce the property’s reliance on fossil fuels and support future-proof energy performance in line with modern environmental standards.
Careful attention was paid to detail throughout the construction process to ensure a high-quality finish inside and out. The use of SIPs allowed for clean, modern lines and excellent build precision, while the internal layout provides spacious, light-filled living areas across all three floors. The home combines speed of build, sustainability, and contemporary design - a strong example of what can be achieved with modern methods of construction.
